"I originally imagined a simple yet elegant shell that would allow me to freely interpret a series of drawings inspired by my travels and encounters. In the present case, I interpreted an iconic Japanese model, a geisha, done by perforating multiple holes that recompose the image. It is revealed through the light, and unveils a mysterious softness, an invitation to relax.
In ancient Japan, geishas were well versed in the arts of music, poetry, song and dance, and of course, the art of love. In order to perpetuate an atmosphere of timelessness and perfect harmony, I also created a suspended lamp with an image of a Koï carp, a highly symbolic fish in Japan, which represents love and virility."
The lamp and armchair are made of white CORIAN®.
